Scope

The Algarve Evolution Association is a private, non-profit association that respects the privacy of its stakeholders. The Algarve Evolution Association is the entity responsible for managing the content of the websites associated with the domain and its subdomains. The Privacy Policy aims to inform you about who we are, the purposes for which we collect personal data, how we process it, with whom we share it, how long we retain it, as well as how you can contact us and exercise your rights.

Data controller

The person responsible for processing personal data is Associação Algarve Evolution, Corporate Taxpayer No. 514897775, with registered office at the University of Algarve Incubator, Gambelas Campus, Pavilion B1, 8005-226 Faro, telephone number (+351) 919994455. In certain cases, Associação Algarve Evolution will act as a subcontractor, processing your data on behalf of another entity, which will act as the data controller, which will notably occur with funded programs.

In these cases, we recommend consulting the privacy policy and/or other information about the processing of your data with those responsible for processing.

Information processing

The Algarve Evolution Association is committed to processing personal data lawfully and transparently.

Personal data will only be collected for specific, explicit and legitimate purposes and will not be processed in a manner incompatible with those purposes.

  • Website development and maintenance;
  • Provision of information;
  • Ensure information security;
  • Registration for space exchanges, employment exchanges, funders' exchanges (BA/CA/others) and mentors and consultants' exchanges.
  • Provided that, in each case, our interest is in accordance with applicable legislation and your rights.

2. You have obtained the express consent of the data subject, in particular to:

  • Sending information about the actions promoted by the Association and the Algarve Tech Hub ecosystem;
  • Invitations.

Why we process your information

Associação Algarve Evolution collects and processes personal data that is voluntarily provided by the holder of the personal data (Holder) by filling out the forms on our website, in person, by telephone, by post and by email.

Any information that the holder provides in this way will only be used to send information, to inform you about the activity, or to publicize events (ours or third parties) when relevant in the context of the ecosystem's activity and in compliance with data protection legislation.

Data is stored and retained for a period of time that depends on the purpose for which the information is processed and whether or not there are legal requirements requiring data retention for a minimum period. When there is no specific legal requirement, data will be stored and retained only for the period necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or subsequently processed, after which it will be deleted.

The Algarve Evolution Association will retain and store data only for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes that motivated its collection and processing, except in cases where there is a specific legal requirement.

Data subject rights

The holder may exercise, at any time, the rights of access, rectification, erasure, limitation of processing or opposition and, where applicable, the right to portability thereof.

If the processing depends on consent, the data subject has the right to withdraw consent at any time, although this right does not compromise the lawfulness of the processing carried out based on the consent previously given.

If consent is legally required for the processing of personal data, the data subject has the right to withdraw consent at any time, although this right does not compromise the lawfulness of the processing carried out based on the consent previously given, nor the subsequent processing of the same data based on another legal basis, such as compliance with the contract or legal obligation to which Associação Algarve Evolution is subject. Proof of identity may be requested to ensure that personal data is shared only with the data subject.

Please be aware that in certain cases (e.g. due to legal requirements) your request may not be immediately fulfilled.

In any case, you will be informed of the measures taken in this regard within one month from the moment the request is made.

You also have the right to file a complaint with the National Data Protection Commission .

Security and confidentiality

The Algarve Evolution Association is committed to ensuring the security and confidentiality of the personal data collected.

The Algarve Evolution Association has adopted several security measures to protect personal data from any unlawful use, as well as requiring its partners to adopt security measures equivalent to those it practices. We do not sell or commercially make your information available to any third party, except registered partners.

Associação Algarve Evolution is committed to keeping your information confidential in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable legislation.

Change to security policy

Algarve Evolution Association may update this Privacy Policy at any time. We therefore ask that you periodically review this document to stay up-to-date.
