It’s official: Faro will host ENEI – the National Meeting of Computer Science Students – in 2027.

The bid presented by NEEI – the Computer Engineering Students’ Association at the University of Algarve was selected as the winner, bringing to Faro an event that gathers hundreds of students and participants from across Portugal.

Over several days, ENEI features talks, workshops, networking, connections with companies and knowledge sharing, bringing together students, professionals and the wider Portuguese tech community.

Following the 2026 edition in Braga, which brought together hundreds of participants, ENEI now heads south to the Algarve. The event represents an opportunity to showcase the region’s tech talent, connect students with companies and strengthen the Algarve’s links with Portugal’s wider technology ecosystem.

Algarve Evolution supported Faro’s bid and will work alongside NEEI in the preparation of the 2027 edition, helping make ENEI an opportunity to showcase the growing technology and innovation community in the Algarve.

Congratulations to NEEI and everyone who helped make this winning bid possible. In 2027, Portugal’s computer science community meets in Faro!
