Faro hosts Junior Market with students presenting business projects
The University of Algarve will host the Junior Market on April 24, an initiative promoted by Junior Achievement Portugal that brings together secondary school students to present projects developed as part of the “A Empresa” program.
The event, taking place at the Penha Campus, will involve around 80 students organized into 16 mini-companies, who will showcase their business ideas through pitches and exhibition stands.
The initiative is supported by Algarve Evolution as the regional partner, along with backing from its associate Sotavento, reinforcing a commitment to promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and skills development among the student community.
As part of the pathway leading to Gen-E Portugal 2026, the Junior Market serves as a qualifying stage for the national youth entrepreneurship competition.
The program begins at 10:00 with the official opening, followed by the project exhibition from 14:30. The winning team will be announced between 16:30 and 17:00.
Throughout the day, visitors will be able to attend presentations, explore the stands, and engage with students, teachers, and judges.
The “A Empresa” program challenges students to create and run a mini-company throughout the academic year, fostering skills such as creativity, teamwork, and financial literacy. At a national level, the initiative involves hundreds of young participants, with around 870 students taking part in the 2024/2025 edition.
